So you're interested in running for Student Government Office? Awesome! Here's my best advice when it comes to elections!
You miss 100% of the Shots you don’t take.
First of all, anyone can win an election! Don’t ever be afraid to run, just because you don’t think you can win. Remember, it’s not a popularity contest; with effort, passion, and commitment, nothing is out of reach.
Get involved early–lots of people wait until they’re an upperclassman to run, and positions can get a lot more competitive! Starting sooner can help you make connections and stand out!
Win or lose, simply running for a position shows your commitment and can open up opportunities later down the road.
